Yes. It's completely free with no credits, no daily quotas and no watermark. The AI runs on your own device, so there are no server costs to pass on to you.
Is my text private?
Yes. Your text is turned into speech inside your browser and is never uploaded to any server. Only the voice model itself is downloaded to your device.
Why does the first use take longer?
The first time, your browser downloads the AI voice and saves it. After that it loads from your device in about a second, and speech starts playing almost instantly.
Which voices are available?
There are 37 voices: 12 American, 13 British and 12 character voices such as a wizard, a dragon and a pirate captain. You can preview every voice before you generate.
Will more languages be added?
Yes, we're adding new languages and voices. Choose More languages in the language menu to tell us which one you need - we add the most requested ones first.
Can I convert text to audio and download it as MP3?
Yes. After generating, download your speech as an MP3 file for videos and social media, or as a WAV file for audio editing.
How much text can I convert at once?
Up to 5,000 characters at a time on computers and 2,000 on phones - about five minutes of speech. For longer texts, convert them in parts; there's no limit on how many times you can do this.
Can I use the audio in my projects?
Yes. The voice model is released under the open Apache 2.0 license, so you can use the speech you create in personal and commercial projects such as videos, courses and presentations.
