A private HEIC to JPG converter built for batches
Most online converters upload your photos to a server and cap how many files you can convert. This HEIC to JPG converter works on your own device instead, so it is faster, private, and unlimited.
Your photos stay private
Personal photos, ID scans, and family pictures are decoded and encoded locally in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, stored, or shared, so even sensitive images are safe to convert.
Convert hundreds at once
Drop a whole folder of HEIC files. Photos are converted in parallel across your CPU cores, and you can download every JPG in one ZIP file or save them straight to a folder.
Correct dates, rotation, and colors
Each JPG keeps the original capture date and camera details, is rotated the right way up, and keeps the wide Display P3 colors of iPhone photos accurate, so nothing looks washed out.
How to convert HEIC to JPG
Turn HEIC photos into JPG files in three quick steps, with no software to install and no account to create.
- 1
Add your HEIC photos
Drag HEIC or HEIF files, or a whole folder, into the converter. You can also click to choose files or paste images with Ctrl+V. Nothing is uploaded.
- 2
Let it convert automatically
Conversion starts the moment your files arrive. JPG at 90% quality is the default, and you can switch to PNG or WebP, change the quality, or resize at any time.
- 3
Download your JPG files
Download a single JPG, grab every photo in one ZIP file, or save them directly to a folder on your computer. On a phone, you can save them straight to your photo library.
What is HEIC, and why convert it to JPG?
HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is the photo format iPhones and iPads have used by default since iOS 11. It is based on the HEIF standard and the HEVC video codec, so it stores a photo at roughly half the size of a JPG with similar quality, and it can hold extras such as depth maps and Live Photo data.
The problem is compatibility. Windows cannot open HEIC files without extra extensions, many websites and online forms reject them, and older versions of Photoshop and Microsoft Office do not support them. JPG works everywhere, so converting HEIC to JPG gives you a file that any device, app, or upload form will accept.
HEIC vs JPG at a glance
| Feature | HEIC | JPG |
|---|---|---|
| Compatibility | Apple devices and recent apps | Every device and browser |
| File size | About 50% smaller | Two to three times larger |
| Web uploads | Often rejected | Accepted everywhere |
| Editing software | Limited support | Universal support |
| Depth and Live Photos | Supported | Still image only |

- Convert an entire camera roll export at once while keeping the original dates for sorting.

Tips for the best HEIC to JPG results
The default 90% quality keeps each JPG visually identical to the original HEIC photo. If a website limits file size, lower the quality to 75 to 80% or set a maximum width of 1920px or 1280px under More options. Turn on Remove location before you share photos publicly, and choose PNG only when you need a lossless copy for editing.
HEIC to JPG FAQ
Is this HEIC to JPG converter free?
Yes. You can convert HEIC to JPG for free with no sign-up, no watermark, and no limit on the number of photos or their file size.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. Every photo is decoded and converted inside your browser on your own device. Your HEIC files never leave your computer or phone, which makes the converter safe for personal and sensitive pictures.
How do I convert HEIC to JPG on Windows?
Open this page in Chrome, Edge, or Firefox, drag your HEIC photos onto the converter, and click Download all. There is no need to buy the HEVC extension from the Microsoft Store.
Can I convert multiple HEIC files to JPG at once?
Yes. Select or drop as many HEIC files as you like, including whole folders. They are converted in parallel, and you can download them as a single ZIP file or save them all to a folder.
Will converting HEIC to JPG reduce quality?
At the default 90% quality the difference is not visible, and detail and colors are preserved. Choose 100% for maximum quality, or PNG for a lossless copy.
Does the converter keep the photo date and location?
Yes. The capture date, camera model, and other EXIF details are copied into each JPG, and the rotation is fixed so photos display upright. You can remove the GPS location under More options before sharing.
How do I convert HEIC to JPG on iPhone?
Open this page in Safari, tap Choose HEIC files, and pick photos from Files or your library. After conversion, tap Save to Photos. To shoot JPG directly in the future, go to Settings, Camera, Formats and choose Most Compatible.
Which formats does the HEIC to JPG converter support?
It accepts HEIC and HEIF photos from iPhone, iPad, Samsung, and other cameras, and outputs JPG, PNG, or WebP. Files that are already JPG are kept as is.
Why is my JPG larger than the HEIC file?
HEIC compresses photos about twice as efficiently as JPG, so a JPG of the same visual quality is usually two to three times bigger. Lower the quality or set a maximum width for smaller files.
Do I need to install software on Mac or Windows?
No. The converter runs in any modern browser on Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, Android, and iOS, with nothing to install and no account required.
